From June 16th till June 25th 2017, Zagreb (Croatia) was host to European Championship at beach handball.
EURO 2017 matches were played 3 courts at Jarun lake so there was action all the time during the men/women championship. Before the regular opening we even had three days of junior (U17) competition.
It was the first time I shot this sport…hell it was the first time I ever saw it and it was a lot of fun for me although the temperatures in Zagreb went up to 35°C, there was no clouds, and the white sand reflected the sun so I was squinting most of the time.
Once again I confirmed that 135mm f/2.0 is amazing lens for sport but I was also using 70-200 in combination with X2 extender, fisheye and 17-40, just for fun.
In men’s category Spain team took the gold, dethroning the Croatian team after 4 European titles in a row and Norway was golden in women’s category.
